Programs Suspended for the Summer
Some of our programs pause for the summer and will resume again starting in September or October. The programs that will be suspended for the summer are:
- Strength Training/ Chair Aerobics (A video from the instructor, Elaine, is available for use Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.)
- Tech Club for Non Techies
- Indoor Walking Group and Indoor Pickleball at the Twomey Center
Strength Training Chair Aerobics
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Cost: $4.00 per class
Join Elaine Corsetti, instructor, for a workout of just the right mix of aerobic & strength set to vibrant music.
Mondays, 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Join Deb Olivia for a NEW Zumba Gold Class!
Zumba Gold is a modified Zumba class for active older adults that recreates the original moves you love at a lower intensity.

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Osteoporosis affects many. This free class may help by using light weights and routines centered around slow, methodical movements.
A recent study in the Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness found that low-weight, high-repetition resistance training is especially effective for increasing bone mineral density in adults. Participants in the study experienced up to 8 percent bone density increases in their arms, pelvis, spine, and legs.

Focusing the mind solely on the movements helps to bring about a state of calm and clarity, as you improve your balance and flexibility.
Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Cost: $5 per class
Instructor Louise Dorian leads a gentle yoga class with a focus on mental peace. Work on your flexibility as you experience tranquility. Supported by the Friends of The Groton Elders.
Mondays, September 12 – October 24, 5:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
No class October 10.
Cost: $5 per class
Join Rebecca Reber, Instructor, on the mat to lengthen and strengthen your body through yoga stretches, alignment and breath work. Please bring blocks and yoga straps if you have them.
Outdoor Walking Group at The Railroad Trail
2nd and 4th Friday of the month at 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
If there is inclement weather, the group will be canceled.
Swimming at The Groton Country Club
Starting June 22 through Labor Day
Wednesdays and Fridays 11:00 a.m. – 12 noon
We are excited to offer the opportunity to swim at The Groton Country Club.

Senior Play (you must be a registered player, reside in Groton, and be 60 years or older). People interested in signing up for pickleball should reach out to The Center to fill out paperwork and receive the sign-up link.
Outdoor Pickleball: Pickleball is back outside! We have space at the Lost Lake Fire Station Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8am to 12 noon through October.
Pickleball League: Play is at the Twomey Center Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. during the school year, and at the Lost Lake Fire Station during the summer. The league is currently full.
Pickleball Occasional Player: Occasional players play with our League players on a space-available basis at Twomey during the school year, as well as at The Center on Mondays and Fridays any season, and at the Lost Lake Fire Station during the summer.
Pickleball Open Play: The Groton Center has an indoor court that is available to residents of all ages at no charge and is available on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons. The majority of players must be residents and is open to all ages. Players are responsible for set up and dismantle of the net. To reserve your court or to be added to the waitlist call 978-448-1170.
