Live your Legacy

Volunteer in our Community

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Groton Council on Aging. We are excited at the prospect of having you join our team.  The volunteers of our community not only support our mission but are essential to our growth. By sharing your skills and experience you could make a difference in the lives of Groton’s seniors and raise awareness with the community about the opportunities for seniors in our town.

We strive for excellence, we will support your efforts through training and open communication as you progress in your service.  A comprehensive volunteer manual is available as a resource for information and direction.  It is our desire that your volunteer experience with us is meaningful and enjoyable.

Volunteer Application

Please note that the Council on Aging is required by law to conduct a CORI (Criminal Offense Record Inquiry) check on volunteers and employees over the age of 18, pursuant to M.G.L. c. 6, s 172C, which requires an agency conduct a CORI check on volunteers and prospective employees who have particular duties and responsibilities relative to the elderly and /or disabled under specific conditions set forth in the law. As part of this requirement, the Council on Aging requests a copy of a prospective volunteer’s photo ID.

We appreciate your interest and welcome you to stop in anytime should you have any questions.
